Summary- JaeJoong is a very famous Rock Star, along with his background singer and best-friend Junsu, and surrogate son ChangMin (whose a professor at Tokyo University) he’s making his dreams come true one screaming fan girl at a time. However as always fame comes with its price, and JaeJoong finds that out in the form of a stalker, a stalker determined to make JaeJoong his own.

JaeJoong stood in front of the door weighing his options, he didn’t really want to be left with the alternative of choosing between his lover and his friends, because then that wouldn’t be fair and if ChangMin and Junsu tried it he was going to let them know how unfair it was. JaeJoong walked into the room Junsu shared with his husband, the both of them were seated on the edge huddled together conspiring in whispers, and JaeJoong resisted the urge to roll his eyes. ChangMin looked over at him; a look that made JaeJoong for some reason feel as if he had ran over his cat or something. Junsu on the other hand refused to look at him.
JaeJoong walked over to them, never really liking heart to heart talk, but feeling as if it was necessary. He really did love YunHo, despite all that YunHo had put him through under the guise of U-Know, JaeJoong knew he would never love anyone more, and he knew that YunHo’s love for him was genuine. JaeJoong sat down next to Junsu and touched his shoulder, Junsu pretended not to feel the touch, JaeJoong sighed.
“I think we should start with what the two of you don’t like specifically about YunHo.” That got Junsu’s attention, and Junsu looked so incredulous that JaeJoong nearly bit through his cheek as he tried to prevent himself from laughing.
“Isn’t it obvious,” ChangMin started his voice calm, “he’s dangerous, he stalked you, raped you, sent you threatening letters-“
“The letters weren’t threatening!” JaeJoong defended.
“Oh please JaeJoong, I really doubt that practically telling you, you belong to him and that he’d hurt anyone who got close to you isn’t threatening.”
JaeJoong had to agree with that, but he did rather reluctantly. “I guess so, but he’s changed, he’s really not like that anymore.” ChangMin shook his head.
“How can we know that for sure, maybe he’s treating you good right now, but maybe it’s all for show JaeJoong, what if he’s acting this way to lure you into a false sense of security.”
“Why does it have to be this way, why do the two of you insist on fighting me with this, if I can accept the fact that he’s changed, how come the two of you can’t?” Junsu and ChangMin lapsed into a thoughtful silence after JaeJoong had finished. They had to admit JaeJoong did have a point; it couldn’t all be just smooth talk on YunHo’s part. He had to have changed at least somewhat; U-Know could be completely separate of him, but then again it still didn’t change the fact that he was a stalker, that he had tormented JaeJoong throughout his career, and had raped him. JaeJoong could accept him, but that didn’t mean that Junsu and ChangMin had too, on the other hand of course JaeJoong was their friend and it was their duty as his friends to support him no matter what.
“I still don’t like him JaeJoong, but me as well as ChangMin will try, it’s obvious that you’re serious about being with him and have no intention of breaking it off with him and we won’t force you, as your friends we will see this through with you.”
“I agree with Junsu, it wouldn’t be fair for the two of us to make you choose, especially since you seem so sincere about this, maybe one day we’ll see what you see.”
JaeJoong smiled and spread his arms out for a hug, Junsu and ChangMin debated on whether JaeJoong deserved it or not, but in the end they realized that after all the drama that had went on, a group hug was the best conclusion for it.
YooChun, Junno and YunHo were seated in the living room. YooChun and Junno on the couch and YunHo on the love seat, they were staring at one another in a sort of suffocating silence, that went on like a long drawn out movie. JaeJoong, Junsu and ChangMin came down the stairs laughing with arms looped and even YunHo couldn’t keep the surprise off his face, he was almost certain that him and JaeJoong would leave without anything being resolved, but seeing this gave him hope, that maybe they could all overlook the past and move forwards. JaeJoong smiled over at him, and then nudged Junsu and ChangMin forwards.
YunHo stood up and went to meet them halfway. ChangMin spoke first. “I still don’t trust you,” he held his hand out, “but this is a start, I hope we can become friends.” YunHo took his hand and gave ChangMin a quick half bow.
“I do as well.” YunHo then turned and looked at Junsu whose approval he wanted more than anyone else’s.
“I still think that you could have pursued JaeJoong differently, but I guess it can’t be helped, I want to accept you, be friends with you, but you have to promise me that you’ll never hurt JaeJoong again in any way.”
“I promise you,” YunHo said his voice solemn as he looked directly into Junsu’s eyes, “I’ll never hurt JaeJoong again.” Junsu stared back at him for what seemed like forever and then with a small smile he nodded and went over to stand beside YooChun.
“If you would all like to stay the night, me and Junsu can set up the guest rooms for you.” Junno looked at ChangMin; they had spent all that time looking for a hotel when they really didn’t have to do that at all.
“We’ll go cancel our reservation at the Hotel,” ChangMin said as he walked off into the kitchen with Junno trailing behind him. YooChun looked over at JaeJoong, who looked over at YunHo who looked over at JaeJoong.
“It’s up to you Jae; I’ll do whatever you want to do.” JaeJoong smiled and nodded his head. YooChun took Junsu’s hand and they went off to get the guestrooms ready. JaeJoong turned to YunHo once they were alone and wrapped his arms around his neck and gave him a small peck on the lips.
“I think it went better than I expected, what do you think?” YunHo leaned forwards and gave JaeJoong a much slower and deeper kiss than the one JaeJoong had given him. That was answer enough.
ChangMin sat down on their bed, they had just finished eating a huge order of take-out, and even though the new relationship forming with YunHo was still in its early stages the atmosphere had been easy and comfortable. ChangMin watched Junno’s lean outline as he brushed his teeth, Junno knew he was being watched but he decided to just let ChangMin watch, he rinsed out his mouth and turned out the light in the bathroom, walking out he met ChangMin’s gaze.
“What is it?” Junno asked as he stole a kiss from ChangMin’s lips and then moved back to take off his shirt. ChangMin watched him a little distracted and then shook his head to clear his mind.
“Do you think we should have fought more, me and Junsu?”
Junno thought about that question for a second, “I think you guy’s did good by JaeJoong in willing to accept YunHo regardless of his past you’ve proven that you really do love and care for him.”
“I guess you’re right,” ChangMin sighed. Junno started kissing ChangMin’s neck nudging the other man, ChangMin took the hint and moved back on the bed, Junno climbed on top of ChangMin and lifted his shirt up kissing at the expanse of tan skin. “He doesn’t seem so bad.” Junno kissed ChangMin’s mouth as he settled his weight down on top of the other man.
“He’s okay,” Junno said as he started to pull down ChangMin’s pants, “but you’re better.”
ChangMin gripped Junno’s hair and pulled him into a hard kiss. “I better be.” ChangMin whispered heatedly against the other man’s lips and let Junno resume with his slow exploration of his body.
“I’m really proud of you Junsu,” YooChun said as he ran his fingers through Junsu’s hair. Junsu was leaned on the counter, the two of them having stayed behind in the kitchen to clear away the take out. Junsu leaned heavily onto the counter closing his eyes and sighing in pleasure as YooChun ran his long fingers soothingly over his scalp.
“You are?” Junsu purred, smiling when YooChun pressed the heat of his body against his back and kissed the back of his neck.
“Yeah, JaeJoong would have been really hurt had you not supported him, and I think he’s been through enough, you and ChangMin really put his mind at ease.” Junsu nodded his head a serious look on his face as he thought about it, YunHo really made JaeJoong happy and JaeJoong deserved all the happiness in the world, and if YunHo just happened to be a part of that worldly happiness then so be it.
“Well I’m proud of myself really, I love JaeJoong a lot and I’d never want to see him sad because of me.” YooChun turned Junsu around and gave him a slow kiss that soon morphed into a full blown passionate make-out session. Junsu’s lower back dug painfully into the edge of the counter and he broke the kiss off.
“Let’s go upstairs,” Junsu suggested.
“What for, we’re fine right here.”
“Did you forget we aren’t the only people in this house, what if they decided to come out and see us,” Junsu was beginning to turn red just thinking about it. YooChun smiled, Junsu always looked so adorably cute when he blushed.
“They’d understand.” Junsu glared at YooChun. YooChun sighed and pulled back, he immediately took Junsu’s hand in his own and bringing it up to his lips he kissed Junsu’s fingers. “I love you.” Junsu smiled. He couldn’t be mad at JaeJoong at all for falling in love with YunHo, because he knew exactly what it felt like to fall in love, to be in love.
“I love you too.”
Hyori flipped her hair over her shoulder, she had been discussing a very important cell phone deal when her manager had contacted her and told her to come down to management immediately. Hyori had her mouth set to bitch, but when she opened the door and saw Jung YunHo on the other side, the rant died in her throat and the color drained completely from her face. YunHo had his hand on her manager’s shoulder and he was bowing repeatedly to YunHo like he was some exotic King from a far off land, he then quickly dismissed himself, leaving the two of them alone.
Hyori felt nervous and fearful for the first time in her life; usually she was on top of everything, the element of surprise not even a playing factor when it concerned her. But this wasn’t any ordinary man this was Jung YunHo of the renowned and practically royal Jung Empire, he had a lot of power, enough to destroy her and everything she worked for completely and utterly. YunHo took note of her jittery air and gave her a friendly smile that came off to Hyori as very feral.
“Hello Hyori, it’s good to finally meet you,” YunHo greeted with a casual wave.
“I don’t know if I can say the same…” Hyori admitted.
YunHo nodded his head and crossed his arms over his chest. “That’s depends, if you cooperate with me this can be a relatively painless conversation.”
“This involves JaeJoong doesn’t it?”
“Why else would I want to meet you?” Hyori’s eyes flashed and she looked away. “I’m not trying to be mean that really isn’t in my nature but you’ve hurt JaeJoong and whatever affects JaeJoong affects me, so at the moment I in you have a problem.” Hyori looked back over at YunHo.
“He told you about my blackmail I’m assuming, which makes my assumption true, the two of you are together.”
“Yes we are does that bother you?”
“Everything that involves JaeJoong bothers me, because I don’t like him at all, in fact I hate him.” She opened up her purse and took out the picture of the two of them. “I lied. This is the only picture I have of the two of you, I followed you, it was a bitch though the two of you are really good at playing the shadows,” she ripped the picture up and let the torn pieces flutter to the ground.
“Tell JaeJoong he’s won, I won’t bother him anymore.” Hyori turned to leave, but was stopped by YunHo’s voice and the anger it held.
“Do you think this was a competition to him, a game? JaeJoong doesn’t sing just because he has a nice voice and he doesn’t model because he has a pretty face, he does those things because that is what he loves to do, he did it because it was his dream. You’re the one who got jealous and turned it into some match between the two of you, you lost on your own terms; don’t blame JaeJoong for your shortcomings.” Hyori stared at YunHo as if just seeing him for the first time, her bottom lip trembling somewhat, she looked away a stray tear breaking free and trailing down her cheek. She wiped at it and then stared at the wetness on her fingers.
“I guess you’re right,” and without another word she turned and left out the room.
JaeJoong bowed apologetically to his amused background dancers in the staff as his phone rung for the tenth time, JaeJoong had tried to ignore it, since he was rehearsing for his upcoming Japan Tour, but it seemed that YunHo wouldn’t let up. He quickly slipped off the stage hoping to make this phone call as brief as possible.
“Yunnie-ah, I’m rehearsing for my tour you can’t keep calling me like this!”
“I’m sorry boo, I just thought I’d let you know I was on my way, I have some good news to tell you.”
“Well okay, but don’t you think it’d be a little suspicious if you came up here just to see me rehearse?”
“I’ll just tell them I’m a fan.”
“That’s even more suspicious.” JaeJoong deadpanned.
“It’ll be fine,” the call ended after that and JaeJoong sighed and then hurried back on stage to continue with his rehearsal.
JaeJoong was sweated out when it came time to rehearse the last song of the day and he was really glad, because he was tired and hungry. YunHo was seated five rows back from the stage and had been staring at him intently since he arrived, but instead of it making JaeJoong nervous and distracting him it seemed to only make him that much more determined. JaeJoong took his jacket off and smoothed some of his damp fringe from his eyes as the lights dimmed somewhat and the slow melancholic arrangement started up:
I’m in love with you, it’s true,
A forbidden love, but I can make that sacrifice
Though my friends may turn away from me,
I know you’ll stand beside me,
Because what we share is true
I can’t explain how I managed to live so long without you,
Your comfortable presence always reassures me,
And comforts me,
I’m sure we’ll last
In the constellations I read
You & Me,
Shining for the entire world to see
JaeJoong met YunHo’s gaze and smiled.
“So what did you have to tell me?” JaeJoong asked as he ran the towel over his wet hair.
“I talked to Hyori,” JaeJoong stiffened. “And everything’s fine, that’s the only picture she has of us, so you won’t have to worry about her blackmailing you, or bothering you anymore.”
“What did you do, you didn’t threaten her did you?”
“I didn’t really have to, I just made her see how much of a good person you are,” JaeJoong looked at YunHo not really knowing what to say in regards to that, but then YunHo was kissing him, and touching him and JaeJoong realized he didn’t have to say anything at all.
Nothing at all…
Epilogue
JaeJoong rubbed his hand across his aching belly, it had been almost a week since the last time he had eaten something even remotely edible and now his stomach was hurting so much it was cramping. JaeJoong breathed in, he just had to make it to the nearest store, the old lady who had taken pity on him had given him enough for a meal. JaeJoong closed his eyes briefly and imagined the steaming hot noodles in his vision and felt his mouth watering. JaeJoong paused, someone was crying, in the next moment JaeJoong forgot all about his hunger as he rounded the corner to see the little girl slumped up against the side of the structure and bawling into her hands.
JaeJoong didn’t really know what to do, but he knew he wasn’t going to leave until he was sure that the girl was all right. He touched her shoulder and kneeled down in front of her, the girl peeked at JaeJoong from between her fingers a little hesistant.
“Hey what’s the matter?” JaeJoong asked in the softest voice he could muster. The little girl stared at JaeJoong, her mother had specifically told her to never speak to strangers, but the guy did look kind.
“I can’t find my umma, I’m scared!” the girl let out a choked gasp and started to cry again, JaeJoong felt his heart constrict, he grabbed the girls hands and wiped at her tears.
“I’m sure she’ll come back looking for you, in the mean time I’ll stay right here and sing to you until she comes back, how about that?” the girl sniffed.
“You won’t leave me?” she asked her big watery eyes staring imploringly into JaeJoong’s own. JaeJoong shook his head.
“I’m not going anywhere!” The little girl nodded her head, and JaeJoong begin to sing to her, softly, and the girl immediately calmed down her tears ceasing and she listened, in the comforting arms of JaeJoong’s voice. The door to the arcade opened and a boy much taller and well kempt than JaeJoong stepped out, he looked like he was getting ready to bolt but the sound of JaeJoong’s voice stopped him. He had never before seen or heard anything more beautiful.
In that moment YunHo would for the first time let his dad wait, he didn’t care if he got in trouble, all he wanted to do was be near this angel and listen to him sing.
JaeJoong made to go into the concert hall to get ready for the opening of his Tour, he would be touring for four months and he was going to miss YunHo dearly, but they would keep in touch through letters and phone calls and that was really all JaeJoong could ask for. The body guards were doing a good job in keeping the fans back, but one was very persistent a girl who from JaeJoong’s peripheral vision looked very familiar. JaeJoong stopped and turned his head, the girl was jumping up and down waving her arms and screaming with tears on her face.
JaeJoong motioned for her to come forwards, ignoring the confused looks he was receiving from his entourage. The girl ran towards JaeJoong and hugged him, she immediately started crying. JaeJoong put his hand up since one of his body guards had leaned forwards to bodily remove the small girl. He patted her back, a feeling of nostalgia overcoming him as he listened to the girl cry.
“I finally got the chance to meet you again my Hero!” she sobbed. JaeJoong grabbed her shoulders and pulled back, he stared hard into her tear stained face and felt like someone had smacked him in his own face.
“It’s you!” he exclaimed not believing his eyes, it was the little girl he had sung to all those years ago, the reason why him and YunHo were together now. She nodded her head overcome with emotion in joy.
“I’ve always wanted to see you again, I’m your biggest fan!” JaeJoong laughed and hugged the girl, and with his arm wrapped around her shoulders he lead her into the concert hall, singing to her softly.
“I want to thank you all for coming here tonight, I can really never thank-you enough for loving me and giving me the opportunity to live out my dream. The last song I’m going to sing tonight is my personal favorite, ‘Flower of Love’” the audience went wild. “It’s a fan favorite as well, and I always try to close my concerts with it, because it is a special song to me, it means a lot to me because it was the first song I ever released and my first hit, I’m glad it is your favorite as well!”
“I want to dedicate this song to two special people in my life, who in one moment in time changed my life forever!” he waved at the girl who he had placed in the front, she was smiling up at him, tears streaming down her face. JaeJoong then looked up and at the main camera.
“I hope you’re listening!”
YunHo turned the volume up a moistness in his eyes that he had no intention of hiding, and he whispered:
“I’m listening.”
Flower of Love
In this garden I dream of true love,
In the classroom that day, you passed me a love note,
Your cheeks flushed and your eyes aglow,
I felt something stir inside of me,
With just that one glance of you
No matter how far apart we are,
I never forget the smile you gave me,
When I read those simple words on that note,
And met your eyes, reciprocating those same
Thoughts of love,
I’m confident that a flower of love bloomed between us that day, that will surely never wither away and die…
I was so shy about this thing forming between us,
Because I didn’t understand love,
But you didn’t mind,
You were patient and sweet,
Guiding me through our roles, with a gentle hand;
I touched your face
I knew that no matter how far apart we were,
That somehow the two of us would meet up,
Together again, at the end of it all
…and I will always love you,
You will always be my one true love…
I’m confident a flower of love bloomed between us that day, that will surely never wither away and die…
…and I will always love you,
You will always be my one true love…
